Companies are screened based on Shari'ah laws and financial strength determined using ratios such as debt to market capitalization, liquid investments to market capitalization, receivables to market capitalization etc. Firms involved in "Harram" business such as alcohol, tobacco, obscene entertainment etc are excluded. We also follow guidelines offered by Shari'ah scholars.
- Portfolio Monitoring & Purification
GSIC provides fund tracking & monitoring support to fund managers. Securities are included or excluded on the basis of risk and return. We also help quantify the impure earnings in the portfolio (earnings from prohibited business) to purify the same.
