  • ACTION:
The client hired Global Strategy & Investment Consulting to execute the research assignment and present a rational recommendation.

  • APPROACH:
A planning phase was essential for this kind of an industry. A secondary research was to follow the first phase entailing a detailed overview of the company and the business model. GSIC's scope of work was more qualitative in this assignment with less of financial modeling.

  • REQUISITES: The client required the following:
    1. Company Brief
    2. Current Scenario
    3. Industry Review
    4. Business model review
    5. GSIC recommendation

  • METHODOLOGY:
The project took off by gaining a qualitative overview of the industry and the company. This was followed up by secondary research in to the various requirements specified by the client.

  • OUTCOME: The overall outcome of the project entailed the following:

    1. Deliverables - A comprehensive report which entailed:
      1. Company - Background, Clients and Competitors
      2. Market Scenario in India
      3. SWOT Analysis
      4. Challenges ahead
      5. Conclusion (including GSIC's recommendation)

    2. Result - GSIC research showed that the telemarketing business would grow to become USD 480 billion which the company could exploit maximally. The investment could be based upon the numerous opportunities the industry had to offer but the threats balanced the positives.

  • POST-MORTEM REVIEW:
The client was extremely satisfied with the due diligence study and was able to have a sound understanding of the business model and the industry. The decision is still pending as there were some significant challenges present in the scenario which made the investment decision slightly hazy.
